Hudhud Cyclone Relief Work

Dear Friends,

We were saddened by the magnitude of damage done by Hudhud Cyclone in costal Andhra Pradesh that hit on Sunday, October 12, 2014. We were able reach out to the most affected villages with care packages and cash donations on two trips and helped them directly. We thank everyone who joined hands with us at the time of need.

With Prayers and Much Gratitude,

Dr. Geetha and Tom Chitta

Cyclone Hudhud that battered the city and costal areas of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday disrupted life.

Power supply was hit as thousands of poles were uprooted and transformers ripped out and strewn on the road. Countless trees that got uprooted snapped the power lines. Without power there was neither water supply nor phone connectivity. Mobilenet works were down in most parts of the city. There was no milk supply on Sunday or Monday morning in many parts of the city and other districts affected.

Glass shards from the facades of modern buildings and window panes lay scattered on the roads.
