St. Xavier’s Home was founded in the loving memory of Mr. Chitta Showry Reddy, father of Tom Chitta. He was a man, who loved the poor and generously contributed to their welfare. Dr. Geetha and Tom Chitta followed the path of Mr. Showry Reddy and started this Home, for the disadvantaged and needy aged people. It was founded on 5th April, 2000 at Shantivanam, near Porumamilla. Shantivanam, means “Forest of Peace” and is 12 kilometres from Porumamilla, a small town and in YSR Kadapa district.
This home has been welcoming and taking care of the needy elderly people for over 11 years through the generosity of FCN sponsors. The elderly are provided with food, clothing, shelter and medical care. Today this home houses 15 elderly, 12 college boys and 20 girls - studying 1st grade through 10th grade. This big family at St. Xavier’s Home is thankful to FCN, and request the generous and continued support of all the FCN sponsors for the smooth running of this Home.
