Voluntary Organization for Rural Development Society runs Navajeevan Special School for the Deaf, near Nandyal in Kurnool District with a residential facility for hearing impaired children from pre-class to 10th grade. Navajeevan gives new life to the hearing impaired and disadvantaged children. Fr. Marreddy started this institution in 1998 with 30 children & 3 teachers and now caters to the educational needs of 214 children with 42 staff. Since the inception 148 hearing-impaired children have completed their 10th grade. The children from different parts of Andhra Pradesh stay in our school from the age 4 to 17 years. This is a very successful school in this area. Fr. Marreddy, the founder of this institution relinquished it to JMJ Society in the year 2010, since then it is run by JMJ sisters.
Foundation for Children in Need is sponsoring the hearing impaired students since 2003. Today 105 children are sponsored which is a great support to the hearing impaired children. Our special thanks to Tom Sir and Geetha Madam.
