Foundation for Children in Need (FCN) was founded by Dr. Geetha Yeruva and Tom Chitta in 2002 at Porumamilla in Kadapa (Dist), Andhra Pradesh, India. It is a non-profit organization that provides help to the needy children, college students and elderly in the villages. Dr. Geetha provides free medical care and health education to rural villagers and school children. FCN has helped to establish several schools, hostels, a home for the Aged, a tailoring and embroidery training center and a community health center. Apart from these FCN actively takes part during natural calamities like Tsunami, floods etc.

Dr. Geetha and Tom are very much interested in reaching out to the most needy in the remote villages. The approach is very direct and the benefits are very concrete. FCN has small staff  who personally supervise all the projects.

The main focus of FCN is to give educational help through sponsorship program for school children and college students who are struggling to continue their education. We try to help those neglected and have less opportunity. Today FCN is sponsoring 2000 children and college students.

Dr. Geetha conducts free medical camps and gives talks on health and hygiene to the people in the rural villages on a regular basis. She provides primary health care and medicines during such camps on behalf of FCN. Teenage girls are given workshops on health, hygiene and family life and are provided with a book on “women’s health”.

Medical Care

FCN started an old age home known as St. Xavier’s Home for the Aged in 2001 at Shantivanam near Porumamilla, Kadapa District. Right now there are 30 seniors who are provided with food, clothing and simple medical care totally free. The accommodations are excellent and the elderly have a very peaceful and happy life in their senior age.
